Introduction

Worldwide, traditional herbal medicine has a body of knowledge in preventing and healing human disease for several thousand years, including chronic and acute diseases. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is systematically documented since historic times and has lately become a preferred treatment in Switzerland and Europe. 

“Swiss Chinese Herbal Medicine and Functional Food Innovation Center” has been established in the 21st September 2020 by the support of Zurich city in Switzerland. A private research institute as an association, which has Swiss members from public institutions and private business companies.involving professors, senior researchers, herb producers and processing companies, policy and decision makers between Switzerland and China. 


Scope

Innovation & research on herbal medicine and functional food in Switzerland, focusing on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with: 

1) Organic and agro-ecological planting and cultivation of herbal plant and functional food to promote the safe production and quality in Switzerland, China and EU. 

2) Herbal natural product research and Utilization in Human Medicine and sustainable Agriculture.


Action Concepts

Conference/ Workshop/ Seminar and public educations, mainly for Swiss and Chinese practitioners and researchers in Switzerland, China, and EU countries. 

2) Scientific research in cooperation with Swiss and Chinese universities, funded by public and private sectors. 

3) Agro- and Bio- Know-How consultancy.

4) Develop promising herbal products and bring to Swiss/European and Chinse markets in cooperation with established companies.
